Tumblr hole
Heh, I spent the better part of my day looking at tumblr... and now I have a headache, lol. Ugh...


I want to start crossposting my shit on tumblr and making a post is pretty much the highlight of my T skill for now... but that's okay :D I've been getting comments here and there about putting this or that on tumblr and I figure it won't cost me a thing to do that :) But this will be just that - a place to crosspost my stuff like I'm already doing on AO3 ♥. I've looked at a few WC-related blogs and... no, just no to most of them. I've glued myself to a few Matty-related blogs which I have been checking anyway. Basically, I'm just gonna crosspost my stuff there, if someone stumbles across it and reblogs or likes - woohoo, if not - no big deal.

But lemme tell ya, my dashboard is a MESS, like even Rodney McKay wouldn't be able to achieve that level of mess and he did blow up a solar system once :P Springtime cleaning is definitely in order!

Hopefully today I can finish the manip I'm working on and it'll be the perfect test pic :) *sigh* I should be working on something completely different but the muse has taken a 180 turn in his creative interests which complicates things... a lot... but I'm not gonna be stressing over it and just embrace the bunnies flisters keep sending my way :D) I'll enter the full-blown panic mode when it's time to do so (lol) :D

Also, spring, beautiful weather, work done for today...



*happy sigh*  Direction: home... with a coffee detour :P

Thanks *hugs* I shall do that :D I really need it, when I setup the account 2 years ago, I was clicking shit at random and now I'm paying for it, lol

Is there any way to have a normal conversation on that thing? Something comment-based like LJ?

LOL - I know what you mean.

There's a couple of ways to try and have a conversation. You can reblog and add your own comment, which is not ideal for the dash - it'll cause super long posts and things to be repeated. There's also a Reply feature (if the person has it enabled, then you'll see a speech bubble at the bottom of a post on your dash. The Reply text then appears in the likes/reblogs of the post and the person can respond (which I think will then appear on their Tumblr as a new post. I haven't tried to the Reply feature, but we can test it out if you want. We both have it enabled.

Meh, so basically you just need to reblog the same thing 20 times to get to a point :P This is why I have resisted tumblr for so long :D Oh well... maybe we can test a few things this weekend :D

Having the XKit installed will make things a lot easier. People reblogging w/o comments or simply liking will fold up and not repeat endlessly. Also, there's an Xkit feature that enables originals, only.

Yes, it's not like LJ and conversations are difficult. But because it's such a visual medium, it can be fun, holding complete conversations via screencaps.

I don't know how vibrant the WC community is on Tumblr - I still follow Archivistsrock, but that's it. And my WC friends who are on Tumblr - but not because of WC, but because they are my friends.

I stumbled upon a random post where someone was complaining about the lack of WC fic on Tumblr. It made my head hurt just thinking about some of the awesome epic fics posted in an endless scroll there with no real way to leave feedback, not even a kudos button. Makes me so glad for LJ, even with all its flaws.

YES! Absolutely.

Fic is definitely an afterthought on Tumblr. I doubt many people find my Flash stories via my obligatory link post.

But art is so appreciated, and I think Kanarek will develop a glorious following (if I have anything to say about that).

Awww, that would be torture /o\ When I did a search for WC tumblrs, the first thing I stumbled upon was the ff.net grade Peter bashing... figures

Yes \o/ I installed the XKit and a few extensions and it's looking sooo much better :D Next step is to clean up the follow list and add LJ friends :D
