Moon update :D

Okay, so I did wake up and go outside and saw the awesomeness, LOL... and froze my butt off in the process because it's so freaking cold!

One of the prettiest things I have seen in a long time :D Usually I don't get to see such things because whenever something is happening, it's either not visible here at all or we get the crappiest weather possible for that one day, lol. So today is a very nice exception :D

And now I guess I'm gonna catch 2 more hours of sleep :P

Your photos are gorgeous! We could see it really well, but couldn't get any decent pics b/c of a street light right near our house (which is usually a good thing, but not for things like this). Glad you got to see it!!

Yeah, I had to walk away from my building because we have an insane amount of street lights... and I wasn't that desperate to go to the nearby park in the middle of the night :D So I parked myself between one light and another, heee :D

Used a trash can as a tripod, LOL. You gotta work with what you got :D

Good thinking! It was kinda impossible to get completely away from them, but yeah, we got kinda in-between them, too. And I wasn't willing to dig out my camera -- I just used my phone. I figured others would get far better pics anyway, and I'd just enjoy them that way :-)

It did clear up here and the moon was bright enough to read by, but I couldn't stay awake to see it turn red. Or it get eclipsed.

I was kinda determined because I've never seen one before and the next opportunity is in 18 years, ouch!

I soooooo need a tripod, one of those little ones with flexible legs just to have something to stabilize the camera... I can't count on trash cans everywhere I go, lol :D

Aww, they look awesome, exactly like this... though for my camera I would need the SLR option because of the huge zoom... and these are kinda pricey /o\ Oh, well.. something to think about :D

My sister, who is an avid photographer, once spent about $500 on a set of carbon fiber tripod leg. Just the legs. The head was another small fortune. But I guess when you've got a Canon Mark V-II and a lens that cost as much as a small car to support, you don't skimp.

LOL, oh yeah :D I mean, it would definitely be a WTF moment to see such expensive camera and lens tip over and break on a 10 bucks tripod :P :P :P
