I think I'll keep the link and read it after having seen the first episode. I usually don't mind spoilers but want to go into this with an open mind, having no idea what to expect.
There recently were character descriptions. You probably only read Matt's ;) In the description of his mother it says that she cares for him because he's ill. Or something.
I am most intrigued by your socks comment, but haven't seen MMXXL yet either. I decided to not watch the German dubbing in cinemas but wait for the English DVD.
From what I gather, the concept of whumping was around before, of course, my Star Trek friend informed me that as far as Kirk was concerned, it was called "bonk" because in that one episode the children always yelled "Bonk bonk on the head". Nowadays it's usually called hurt/comfort or h/c, I just wonder what these people do when there is only hurt without the comfort... I like whumping better!
It was quite an eye opener to find that there was actually a term for it, stupid me thought I was the only one in the world LOL
