A/N: I decided not to tackle this prompt the way you would expect but have more metaphorical take on it instead :P After all, when Neal learned the truth about James, everything fell apart for the poor boy *pets him* And there was no Peter in his life back then to put the pieces back together again.

This fills the apocalypse square on my H/C Bingo card \o/

That is so gorgeous! I love his sweater (and his *socks*! Hee!!) and just how adorable he is... but he's also just so unbearably sad and heartbroken and devasated, and he needs allllll the cuddles. And I am soooo willing to be the one to give them to him!! LOL!! *smishes sweet li'l Neal* ;-)

LOL, yes, poor baby needs ALLLL the cuddles... back then he didn't have his Peter to do that, aww.

And now I'm craving fic where it's winter and of course Neal is recovering from cold/pneumonia/whatever, he's feeling rather miserable but he gets to wear Peter's oversized but insanely fluffy sweater and a pair of super warm socks that El's mom made... they make a nest of pillows and blankets in the living room, Peter leans against the sofa, Neal leans against Peter's chest and he's pretty sure that never before has he felt more warm and comfy and loved :P

Thank you, my friend :D ♥ Awwww, now you made me think of a beautiful scene in which Peter and Neal talk and somehow Neal ends up telling Peter about that day, about how terrible it all had been... but then, when Peter holds him, tries to soothe him, chase away those painful memories, then Neal tells him that in the end, he wouldn't change a thing because everything that had happened that day had steered him on a path that led him straight to Peter ♥
