Hee! I think I've watched Escape From Earth-2 a dozen times already! So epic, much feels. It's just the perfect combination of Harry being awesome, E-2 Barry silliness, E-2 Iris awesome. Cisco Awesome. Killer Frost Awesome. Awesome all the way around!
From what I've read with interviews with the showrunner, Zoom is Hunter Zolomon, a comics baddie - and the guy that Jay pointed out to Caitlin in The Reverse Flash Returns. That of course doesn't resolve who "Jay" was, and who the Man in the Mask is. My theory is that "Jay" is a clone, that he never had speed and was sent to E-1 as a plant. To get the team to develop a speed drug so Zoom could milk him. His death was accidental - that Zoom was trying to come through the portal and didn't mean to shove his fist through clone-Jay's chest. Hence his statement "Well, that's a complication"
The man in the mask is the real Jay, who is Zolomon/Zoom's twin brother on E-2.
